There is a foundational truth that undergirds all of TAP’S community outreach and educational programs; the skills that make one successful in the theatre are the same ones that make a person successful in life. TAP connects with the community in many ways, offering the following affordable performances and programs for Door County families.
StageKids is comprised of children from across Door County that provides opportunities for children to explore their creativity, develop confidence, and learn the value of collaboration.
Adult classes and theatre labs are offered for local amateurs of all levels to hone their craft through classes on improvisation, clowning, musical theatre, and stage combat.
Aspiring playwrights are given opportunities to work alongside and learn from experienced professionals.
Documentaries and movies are presented to the community, along with film study classes.
The Internship program allows students to work alongside theatre professionals and gain invaluable experience in acting, stage management, costume design and fabrication, set design and construction, lighting, dramaturgy, and arts management.
The REIMAGINE Campaign will enhance TAP’S ability to offer quality education and outreach programs with the addition of a dedicated classroom on the second floor. A new scene shop, costume shop, tech booth, and updated equipment will not only improve the quality of what occurs on stage, but will also serve as learning labs for interns and anyone who participates in the outreach programs.
